RETRO-STYLE FRAME TUTORIAL

make a kitschy mini frame using an upcycled baby food jar lid...

MATERIALS:
  • baby food jar lid (gerber)
  • large paperclip
  • photo
  • clear transparency paper (office supply)
  • small sized pom pom trim (about 7 and 1/4 " long)
  • sequin trim (about 7 and 1/4" long)
  • rhinestones or other small scrapbooking embellishments
  • circle cutter to make 1 and 7/8 size circles (I use martha stewart brand)
  • high temp hot glue gun and glue
step one:  cut your photo of choice (I used a photoshopped one made to look "retro") and your clear transparency with the circle cutter (to 1 and 7/8 size circles).  The photo and transparency should fit nicely into the baby food jar lid.

step two: glue on your pom pom trim along the edge of the lid, along with your sequin trim and rhinestones, or any other embellishments (for a super quick project use rhinestones that are already in strips like this.)

step three: unfold your paperclip and apply hot glue

step four: glue to the back of the baby food jar lid (this will be your frame stand):

now you have a cute and kitschy photo frame
